Mesti ada aja kemungkinan buat si atlit sakit atau peralatannya rusak pas pertandingan. Kalo beneran kejadian, dibawah ini aturan resmi yang dikeluarin sama FITA/World Archery. Aturan ini dikutip dari World Archery Rules – Book 3 (tentang Target Archery):
12.2.4. In the event (during the qualification round) of an equipment failure, verified by a Judge, or a medical issue, verified by medical
personnel, extra time may be given to make the necessary repairs, change the damaged equipment or for medical personnel to
determine the problem and decide whether or not the athlete is fit to continue competing unassisted. However the maximum time for
make up arrows to be shot is 15 minutes (following regular order of shooting and timing). The athlete shall make up the appropriate
number of arrows at the earliest opportunity under the supervision of a Judge.
12.2.4.1. In the event of an equipment failure the athlete shall call a Judge while stepping back from the shooting line.
12.2.5. The order of shooting may be changed temporarily for the purpose of an equipment repair or for medical treatment.
12.2.6. In the Olympic, Compound or Indoor Match Round, no extra time shall be allowed for equipment failure or the treatment of medical
problems, but the athlete concerned may leave the shooting line to resolve the issue and return to shoot any remaining arrow(s) if the
time limit permits. In the Team Event other member(s) of the team may shoot in the meantime.
Buat yang kurang paham bahasa Inggris, kurang lebih maksudnya kayak gini:
12.2.4. Pas babak kualifikasi kalo si atlit sakit (diverifikasi sama tim medis pertandingan), atlit dan tim medis dikasih waktu maksimal 15 menit buat memutuskan si atlit bisa lanjut main tanpa bantuan orang lain atau nggak.
Kalo alatnya yang rusak (ini juga harus diverifikasi sama juri kalo alatnya beneran rusak), si atlit juga dikasih waktu maksimal 15 menit buat benerin.
15 menit itu waktu maksimalnya, jadi kalo masalahnya beres sebelum itu harus langsung nembak lagi. Gak boleh ngaso dulu.
12.2.4.1 Kalo pas nembak terus alat rusak, si atlit harus manggil juri sambil mundur dari garis tembak.
12.2.5. Urutan nembak boleh diganti sementara buat betulin alat atau ngobatin atlit.
12.2.6. Dalam babak aduan ronde Olympic, Compound, atau Indoor, ga ada waktu tambahan buat betulin alat atau ngobatin atlit. Tapi si atlit boleh mundur dari garis tembak buat betulin alat atau ambil alat cadangan, terus nembak lagi kalo waktunya masih ada. Ini alasannya kenapa kita suka liat atlit bawa 2 busur pas babak aduan.
Kalo babak aduan beregu, temen seregunya boleh disuruh nembak duluan sambil nunggu si atlit pertama diobatin atau betulin/ganti alat.
